3D Systems has partnered with the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers to create a new category for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. The category is called "Future New" and it encourages students to push the envelope by creating with technology like 3D Systems line of printers.
Entries into the "Future New" category were judged on technical skill, originality and personal voice. In the end nine students were recognized for their abilities with the top three snagging $1,000 scholarships.
"We are thrilled to partner with the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers to recognize our best and brightest art and literature students," said 3D Systems CEO, Avi Reichental. "We remain committed to inspire youth to create the 'Future New,' and look forward to seeing how America's young talent rises to this challenge, as we ignite in students the passion to master tomorrow's competitive skills today."
The work of the top Scholastic award winners will be featured in the Art.Write.Now.2013 National Exhibition and Tour. You can click here for dates and locations.
