3D Systems has announced its Cube 3D printer and Sense 3D scanner are now available in 100 Best Buy stores nationwide and online at bestbuy.com. It's also pretty clear that the Cubify software line, Touch 3D Stylus and larger CubePro printers are on their way to Best Buy's website.

The placement of 3D Systems' core consumer products in various Best Buy retail locations is intended to increase the availability of 3D printing to consumers. The Cube now has one of the highest brick and mortar retail penetrations in the market.

In-store displays are designed to showcase the ease of using the Sense and Cube for tech enthusiasts, kids and families, whether first timers or experts.

"We want to make it possible for anyone to experience 3D printing and scanning," said Peter Theran, Vice President, Global Consumer Products, 3D Systems. By bringing 3D printing to retail stores, we can grow our audience and give consumers an opportunity to interact with 3D printing technology that they otherwise may not have."

The Cube's price is $999. It includes WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, prints at a 70-micron layer height, features a permanently leveled print bed and it employs a dual cartridge filament system so objects can be printed in two colors. It also integrates seamlessly with the Cubify mobile app.

The Sense's price is $399. It has a flexible scan size, able to capture small items or a full human, and it produces files that can be 3D printed.
