Airwolf 3D, the designer, manufacturer and distributor of high-performance 3D printers has been named a finalist for the Orange County Technology Alliance annual High-Tech Innovation Awards in the category Enterprise Hardware and Devices.

"We are honored to have been selected as a finalist in this year's awards. The High-Tech Innovation Awards presented by the OC Tech Alliance are an important tradition for recognizing technology innovation," said Erick Wolf, co-founder and chairman of Airwolf 3D. "Since our ultimate goal is to place a 3D printer on every desktop, we design and manufacture units that include the features customers want at an affordable price."

The Orange County Technology Alliance is a nonprofit trade association focused on spurring local innovation. The successor organization to the Orange County Council of TechAmerica and AeA, the association addresses the needs of small-to-midsize technology companies located in Orange County, Calif.

Alliance members can take advantage of local networking, professional development, state and federal advocacy, savings on business services and industry recognition.

Airwolf 3D says their mission, to provide the public with affordable, durable, easy-to-use 3D printers, is aimed at users of all ages and backgrounds. To that end, Airwolf 3D designs its 3D printers with support for a wide variety of materials and the devices feature a class-leading build envelope which makes them ideally suited for engineers, hobbyists and students.

Peter Craig, the CEO of the OC Tech Alliance, said the nominations and awards are in recognition of firms bent on pushing innovation forward and added that nominees are selected from a group which includes concerns ranging from large, well-established firms to start-ups.

"We congratulate Airwolf 3D for being selected as a finalist," Craig said of the nomination. "This selection is exemplary of the many companies that drive technology innovation here, across the country and around the world."

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner event on October 9, 2014, at the Westin South Coast Plaza.
