Lulzbot has selected eight winners from more than 200 entries for its first Hackerspace Giveaway. They were chosen based on the creative ways they will use the prize, a Lulzbot AO-100 3D printer.
Colorado-based LulzBot has announced The LulzBot Hacker Space 3D Printer Giveaway. Eight lucky hackerspaces will win a free Lulzbot AO-100 desktop 3D printer. A hackerspace (aka; makerspace or fablab) is an open community facility where equipment normally found in machine shops, workshops and studios can be used by hackers/tinkerers/DIY enthusiasts, sharing these resources to build and make things.
Two weeks remain for a chance to win an Afinia H-Series 3d printer. The contest can be entered by joining Afinia's mailing list on their web site. The winner of the prize, valued at $1,599, will be announced in April of 2013.
MakerBot® and GrabCAD have announced the winners of their recent 3D Printer Challenge to design futuristic vehicles for the year 2040. Six winners out of 151 entries were selected that represent the most futuristic and beautifully designed cars, planes, spacecraft and other space-age vehicles that would exist in the year 2040.
