Temperature towers, pressure advance, flow rate and tolerance tests are built into the interface rather than downloaded as separate models, which cuts tuning a new filament from an evening to about an hour. Prints inner walls first, which helps overhangs.
The reference implementation since it forked from Slic3r in 2019. Prints outer walls first by default, which favours dimensional accuracy over overhang quality.
On Bambu hardware it is the shortest path to a good print, because the profiles were written by the people who built the machine. On anything else, Orca does the same job with fewer assumptions.
Supports more printers out of the box than anything else through its preset library. Development slowed through 2026 and new features now land in the Orca and Prusa camp first.
Resin rather than filament. Support generation is what the pro tier sells, and it decides whether a print survives coming off the plate.
The friendlier of the two resin interfaces, and the more aggressive paywall.
Runs in a browser with no install and no account, and also generates toolpaths for milling and laser cutting.
The last paid filament slicer. It led the field for years; the free options overtook it and the licence still costs money.
