   Printables

   Prusa pays uploaders in points redeemable against filament, which is why it is the fastest-growing catalog and why models arrive with settings that worked. Past 1.5 million free files. Account required to download.

2. 2

   MakerWorld

   Passed Thingiverse on monthly traffic in 2026. Models carry tested profiles that load straight into Bambu Studio, so there is no slicing decision to make. On other hardware that advantage disappears.

   MyMiniFactory

   Every file is test printed before it goes up, which gives it the highest hit rate here. It also bought Thingiverse in February 2026, so it now owns both ends of the catalog.

   Thingiverse

   The deepest back catalog and the worst search. Fifteen years of uploads means somebody already made the bracket you need; finding it is the problem.

   Cults3D

   A shop with a free section rather than a free repository. The designers worth following put their better work behind a price.

   Thangs

   Searches by geometry instead of by keyword: upload a model and it finds similar shapes. It indexes the other sites, so it works as a layer over the whole category.

   Yeggi

   A search engine that hosts nothing of its own. Start here when you do not know which repository has the thing.

   GrabCAD

   Bearings, fasteners, brackets and full assemblies, uploaded by mechanical engineers. Free with an account. The files were drawn for manufacture rather than for a nozzle, so most arrive at the wrong scale and with no clearance between mating parts.

   Pinshape

   Small enough to browse end to end in an evening, which none of the sites above can say. It is also the least likely to hold the specific thing you came for.

    Free3D

    No vetting and no house license: terms are set per file by whoever uploaded it. Many models were built to be rendered rather than printed and reach a slicer with holes.
