Expensive, and the enclosure, camera and filtration are all extra
A 360 mm cubed bed with up to five independent toolheads, so a multi-material assembly comes off the plate finished and soluble supports cost grams instead of a spool. Tool offsets and first layer calibrate themselves on every print, and it is open the whole way down: published firmware, published hardware, every spare sold.
Owners report the reputation and the reality diverging on this line specifically. A long thread documents buddy-board overheating, warped parts and weak gantry brackets, and Prusa staff have called early units noisy in their own forum. No enclosure, camera or filtration is included at any price, and every one of them is another purchase on a machine that already costs the most here.
Best at: Multi-material assemblies in a single run, with near-zero waste.
Worst at: Consistency, on the one Prusa line where the manuals do not save you.
