Upper mid-range, with all four toolheads included
The machine that fixes multicolor waste. Four complete toolheads swap in about five seconds each, so a three-color plate that costs an AMS machine 85 g of purge costs the U1 about 4 g of prime tower. Every toolhead is direct drive, the firmware is open Klipper, and all four heads are in the price.
The catch list is short but real: the enclosure lid costs extra, so ABS and ASA sit one accessory away from ideal, the stock nozzles are stainless rather than hardened, and the first units shipped through Kickstarter with the early bugs that implies. Retail units report clean.
Best at: Multicolor without the waste pile.
Worst at: A sealed enclosure, which is an accessory.
